「番町の庭」
この街が育んできたくらし・文化・歴史を改めて見つめ未来へと繋いでいく、まちづくり広場。「番町」という地名は、江戸時代、江戸城を守る為にこの一帯に大番組の旗本たちを住まわせたことが由来とされ、江戸時代の街割りは今も残っている。建物・庭は当時の武家屋敷の構成に習い、庭には江戸文様の「七宝」パターンを描いている。輪がつながりそれが四方に連続する「七宝」模様は、限りなく広がることから永遠に栄える縁起の良い模様。この場所から人々がつながり、その輪がこの場所を中心に広がっていくよう願いを込めている。

Bancho no Niwa
This urban plaza reimagines and revitalizes the lifestyle, culture, and rich history cultivated by this town, linking it with future aspirations. The name “Bancho” harks back to the Edo period (1603-1867), when Hatamoto (feudal lords) were stationed here to safeguard Edo Castle, and the period’s street layout still endures. The architecture and gardens are designed in homage to the samurai residences of that era, featuring gardens adorned in the intricate Edo-era “cloisonne treasures” pattern. Symbolizing perpetual prosperity with its interconnected rings extending in all directions, this pattern embodies auspiciousness and continuity. Our aspiration is for Bancho no Niwa to foster community connections and radiate positivity outward, creating a hub where people gather and from which harmony and prosperity emanate.
