東京の埋立地に建つ高層マンションの各所に埋め込まれた円形のプレートは、その建築材料がどこの国で採取されたいつの時代の鉱物から作られたのかや、どこの国から渡来した植物なのか等、地球の様々な情報を教えてくれる。現代の私たちの快適な暮らしは、人間がこの地球を切ったり貼ったりしながら辛うじて成り立っている事を伝えるアートワークである。
Circular plates integrated into different areas of high-rise condominiums constructed on Tokyo’s reclaimed land provide diverse insights into the origins of materials used in the building’s construction and the plants within it. These plates reveal details such as the country of origin and extraction date of the building materials, as well as the origins of the plants. The artwork emphasizes that our current comfortable lifestyle hinges on the relentless extraction and transformation of Earth’s resources.
